UNDER THE DOME have switched to in 2016, mostly single digits: No. 2 — Running Back Dexter Williams Old Number: 34 No. 34 will now be donned by freshman running back Tony Jones Jr. No. 3 — Slot Receiver CJ Sanders Old Number: 9 Sanders, who is recovering very well from his hip surgery this spring, per head coach Brian Kelly, is back to his high school number. Senior quarterback Malik Zaire will be the new No. 9 on offense. No. 6 — Wide Receiver Equanimeous St. Brown Old Number: 86 No. 6 was St. Brown's high school number. The new No. 86 is freshman wideout Javon McKinley. No. 7 — Cornerback Nick Watkins^ Old Number: 21 Watkins, recovering from a broken humerus incurred this spring, takes the vacated number on defense. Wear- ing No. 21 now will be freshman safety Jalen Elliott. No. 7 — Quarterback Brandon Wimbush^ Old Number: 12 With All-American wide receiver Will Fuller off to the NFL, the new No. 7 on offense will be Wimbush. Fresh- man quarterback Ian Book will wear No. 12. No. 9 — Quarterback Malik Zaire Old Number: 8 Sixth-year senior safety Avery Sebastian will be the lone player donning No. 8 this year. No. 14 — Free Safety Devin Studstill Old Number: 13 The early enrollee donned No. 13 this spring. At that time, junior tight end Tyler Luatua — also No. 13 — was not with the team and planned to transfer to BYU. Luatua ended up changing his mind and is with the team again. In order to avoid the possible situation where Luatua and Studstill could be on the same spe- cial teams unit, Studstill now has the same number as quarterback DeShone Kizer. No. 20 — Nickel/Cornerback Shaun Crawford Old Number: 14 With Studstill "bumped up" to No. 14, Crawford, side- lined last year with an ACL tear but now the starting nickel (if not at corner), will move up from the teens. No. 22 — Will Linebacker Asmar Bilal Old Number: 27 Bilal is the fifth sophomore — joining Williams, Sand- ers, St. Brown and Wimbush — to return to his high school number.
