FOOTBALL RECRUITING fact, only three of the 12 Rivals250 visitors were from the Midwest, showing the national appeal of the event. Kennedale (Texas) High five-star linebacker Baron Browning, Graham (Wash.) Kapowsin four-star offen- sive tackle Foster Sarell, Los Angeles Cathedral four-star defensive end Hunter Echols, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy four-star offensive tackle Robert Hainsey and Shelby (N.C.) Crest four-star linebacker Justin Fos- ter were the highest ranked players in attendance, all checking in within the Rivals100. COMMITS PERFORM WELL Four committed players from the 2017 class were in attendance, al- though Indianapolis Cathedral four- star linebacker Pete Werner did not work out due to a hamstring injury. Naperville (Ill.) Neuqua Valley four- star athlete Isaiah Robertson also sat out, but he was actively engaging with uncommitted players in the class in an attempt to get them to join the Rivals250 standout at Notre Dame. For the second year in a row, Ar- lington Heights (Ill.) St. Viator four- star tight end Cole Kmet worked out at the Irish Invasion, and he again was a standout. His performance at the 2015 camp earned him a schol- arship offer, and Kmet eventually committed to Notre Dame. This year, his equally impressive performance further cemented his standing in the Rivals250. Cedar Hill (Texas) High three- star quarterback Avery Davis par- ticipated in drills and got an oppor- tunity to work with quarterbacks coach Mike Sanford. Davis showed off his athleticism and arm strength, but struggled with accuracy early in the camp. Once he found his groove, Davis put together a strong passing performance. Four-star defensive end Hunter Echols, who is ranked as Rivals' No. 53 overall prospect in the 2017 class, was among the 12 Rivals250 mem- bers from his class at the Irish Invasion.
