FOOTBALL RECRUITING
Less than a month later, two more
attendees joined the fray when Ri-
vals250 running back C.J. Holmes of
Hamden (Conn.) Cheshire Academy
and Hainsey, a Rivals100 offensive
tackle, pledged to Notre Dame dur-
ing the Nike+ Football The Opening
Finals in Beaverton, Ore.
The week following the Invasion,
Notre Dame hosted a camp for line-
men, which also proved fruitful.
Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep de-
fensive linemen Jayson and Justin
Ademilola, twin brothers, both an-
nounced their commitment to Notre
Dame, with their experience during
the camp and the opportunity to work
with defensive line coach Keith Gilm-
ore proving to be key factors.
All in all, Notre Dame was able to
turn the event into an opportunity to
add four players to the 2017 recruiting
class and three to the 2018 class.
FORWARD FOCUS
Beginning with the 2015 Irish Inva-
sion, the Notre Dame coaching staff
has been more forward thinking with
how to shape the list of attendees.
Evidenced by the commitments it
received from the rising juniors, that
plan was a success.
Jacob Lacey, a 2019 defensive tackle at Bowling Green (Ky.) South Warren, picked up a Notre Dame
offer after an impressive performance at the Irish Invasion.
