MICHIGAN RECRUITING — Warren (Mich.) De La Salle quar- terback Shane Morris is the nation's No. 16 prospect, and Trotwood (Ohio) Madison linebacker Mike McCray and Parker (Colo.) Pon- derosa offensive lineman Chris Fox are also top-50 players according to Rivals.com — it's possible that the Wolverines could add even more top-end talent. Murietta (Calif.) The Los Angeles-area native plans to an- nounce his college commitment on June 6, his mother's birthday. Prior to that announcement, however, he intends to make a late-May visit to Ann Arbor. Although landing Cra- vens is a long shot for the Wolverines (USC is considered a heavy favorite for the talented youngster), his trip to Michigan gives U-M a chance to land his services. He is a 6-1, 205-pounder who could line up at many positions in college, but is mostly likely to play safety should he pick Michigan. Olney (Md.) Good Counsel cor- nerback Kendall Fuller is a 6-0, 180-pounder ranked one spot ahead of Cravens at No. 4 nationally. The Colum- bus (Ohio) Nike Football Training Camp was an opportunity for many future Wolverines to display their abilities. "It feels great," Dawson said. "The hard work that I've put in over the years is really paying off now. I got the MVP. It was just a good competi- tion, and it felt great." "I know a lot of people think I'm kind of slow and can't cover well," he said, "but I think that some of my top strengths are coverage and speed at my size. I'm just trying to prove people wrong." In addition to their MVP honors, Harper Woods, Mich. (Chandler Park) both players earned invitations to Nike's The Opening camp this July in Beaverton, Ore. Charlton and Morris were also invited to the event. Mor- ris also participated in the Columbus Elite 11 tryout the previous day, earn- ing MVP honors there, along with an invitation to the Elite 11 finals in Los Angeles this July.
