Offers: Alabama, Clemson, Lou- of 279 passes for 3,345 yards with 48 touchdowns for one of the state's premier high school football programs that played in arguably the most competitive region of the state. Some thought Ferguson outperformed Mitch at a Nike Camp in Charlotte in May. He does not have Mitch's size and intangibles, but he may have a stronger arm. 10. DEFENSIVE END DEVANTE COVINGTON Richmond County High/Rockingham Reynolds High in Asheville, N.C., Covington measured 6-3, 210 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.65 seconds and the shuttle in 4.20 seconds, had a 29.0-inch vertical leap and did 11 reps at 185 pounds on the bench press. Rivals.com ranking: Three-star prospect and No. 26 player in North Carolina. Offers: Clemson, East Carolina, end that had 34 tackles and eight sacks as a junior, but what may surprise some is how strong he is for his size. Favorites: Prince verbally pledged for Clemson last prospect, No. 19 offensive tackle in the country, No. 6 recruit from North Carolina and No. 192 player overall regardless of position. Offers: Clemson, Duke, Georgia, speed, but on the field he makes up for that with instincts and competitiveness. He does not back down from a challenge, and has the versatility to play either corner or safety. As a junior, Lawrence posted 60 tackles, three picks and six passes broken up on defense, and more than 900 total yards and 12 touchdowns offensively. April 7. Scouting report: Lawrence may not have top-level 16. RUNNING BACK MARQUEZ GRAYSON Lexington High/Lexington Carolina, NC State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. LOGAN Northern Guilford High/Greensboro recruit, No. 5 all-purpose back in the land and No. 11 player in the state. Offers: Auburn, Clemson, NC edly runs the 40-yard dash in less than 4.5 seconds. Offers: Auburn, Georgia Tech, bine checked in at 5-9, 170 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.70 seconds and the shuttle in 4.51 seconds, and had a 31-inch vertical leap. Rivals.com ranking: Four-star Measurables: At the U.S. Army All-American com- Minnesota, NC State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia. Favorites: Verbally committed to North Carolina March 20. Scouting report: Walker is a nice athlete with good cover skills. He posted 38 tackles, three picks and four forced fumbles as a junior. The biggest question mark about Walker is whether his smallish frame will hold up in an era where coaches are putting a premium on physicality and tackling from the corner position.
