2012 FOOTBALL PREVIEW BY JACEY ZEMBAL the former All-ACC performer who had transferred to Wisconsin for his last year of college football. Glennon, though, be- came a force in his own right, leading the Wolfpack to an 8-5 record and victory over Louisville in the Belk Bowl. F |||||||||||| QUARTERBACKS The 6-6, 232-pound fifth-year senior completed 283 of 453 passes for 3,054 yards with 31 touchdowns and 12 intercep- tions in his first extended action at NCSU. He passed for 11 touchdowns and rushed for one, while tossing just two picks in wins over Clemson, Maryland and Louis- ville to close out the season. "I think it's typical of Mike and his per- sonality in the way that he handled himself," said NCSU offensive coordinator Dana Bible, who also mentors the quarterbacks. "He's very team-oriented. He likes his team- mates, and they like him. It's very genuine. "I think he did a very good job of under- standing the things that he can control and focused on them, and with the things that are out of his control, he did a great job keeping those out of the mix. "We expect Mike to have an outstanding season. We feel like he's right on schedule as far as his development. We feel like he, like a number of his teammates, is in posi- tion to have a strong season." NC State wasn't just breaking in a new quarterback who had 52 career passes go- ing into last year. The wide receivers, two starters on the offensive line and the run- ning back rotation were also part of a new- look offense. That and injuries contributed to a 2-3 start to the 2011 campaign. Glennon and the offense continued to improve, helping the Pack win six of its last eight games. He topped 300 yards in three games, including a career-high 334 Year-By-Year Passing Stats Year Yards TD INT 2011 2010 2009 2008 2007 2006 2005 2004 2003 2002 3,120 3,655 3,275 2,678 2,948 2,188 2,282 2,222 4,580 3,468 36 ■ THE WOLFPACKER 32 28 32 20 14 10 14 10 35 20 12 14 13 14 23 16 14 16 7 11 ew quarterbacks in the country had the outside pressure Mike Glennon faced last year at NC State when he had to replace Russell Wilson, Mike Glennon Is Poised To Leave A Winning Legacy At NC State PATIENCE PAYS OFF Glennon was at his best in the season-ending three-game win streak over Clemson, Maryland and Louisville last year, completing 76 of 117 passes (65.0 percent) for 823 yards with 11 touchdowns and just two interceptions.
