"Jacob Trouba isn't going anywhere until the Jets get an offer they can- not refuse — and that moment never seemed further away than it did this week as hockey got underway across North America," Winnipeg Free Press columnist Paul Wiecek wrote. "That is bad news for Trouba, who is com- ing to stark terms with the serious consequences of a trade demand that has never looked more reckless." Buffalo, Boston, Detroit, Florida, Los Angeles and Arizona have shown interest, but the Jets are re- portedly in no hurry to trade him. Zach Werenski • NHL The Columbus Blue Jackets' rookie defenseman scored the first goal of his career in his second game, a 3-2 loss to San Jose Oct. 15. "Zach is a guy you can see, especially tonight, how he can control the game with the puck," coach John Tortorella told The Columbus Dispatch. "We have a lot of teaching to do with him without the puck … but the God-given ability that he has is at a different level than a lot of players in this league."
