FACILITIES
Enhancing UVA's
home team advantage
for student-athletes,
coaches and fans
e needs of individual sports are prioritized through coaches'
discussions with athletics administrators. Once an identified
facility project has gone through the University's approval pro-
cess, the athletics department depends on the Virginia Ath-
letics Foundation to raise the funds to finance the project and
provide an endowment to support its operation and ongoing
maintenance, if appropriate.
Current facility priorities include a renovation and expansion
of Davenport Field, a new tennis facility to support the men's
and women's tennis programs and an enhanced facility for Vir-
ginia's golf programs.
e UVA athletics department anticipates additional facility
projects will be added in 2017. e department is currently
working on conceptual plans for a number of facility projects
to determine the scope of the project and associated cost esti-
mate.
