A L E T T E R F R O M T H E P U B L I S H E R Something exciting is happening This has been a season of exciting developments in Happy Valley. From head coach Bill O'Brien's new offense to strength coach Craig Fitzgerald's innovative new techniques in the weight room, positive transitions are being made in the Lasch Building. Meanwhile, many of the positive traditions and foundations established by legendary head coach Joe Paterno – from the plain uniforms to the high academic standards – have remained intact. This fall, Blue White Illustrated is getting in on the act. While our standard of excellence in covering and analyzing Penn State football for the past 27 years has not changed, notable improvements in technology, coupled with our con- cerns about an increasingly overburdened postal service, make this fall the right time to adjust how we deliver our magazine to your doorstep. As publisher, I'm thrilled about the improvements we're making at Blue White Illustrated for the upcoming football season. Let me tell you a little bit about what we're planning. Starting this fall, we're producing the biggest and best issues of Blue White Illustrated in our history, both in print and online, for the same low price. Also for the first time, all of our pregame and postgame Penn State football coverage will be delivered to you instan- taneously, electronically. No more waiting by the mailbox on a Thursday afternoon to read about the Nittany Lions' victory the previous Saturday. No more frustrations over missed issues or having to read our previews after a game has already been played. Like clockwork, each Wednesday afternoon, you'll be able to read our extensive game preview by simply checking your email or logging on at BlueWhiteOnline.com. Every weekend, you'll read an extensive recap of the game from our award-winning reporters as early as Saturday night. This, of course, is a complement to our dramatically improved print publication, which you'll still receive in your mailbox, again, for the same low price. Twelve times a year, you'll get our newly sized, enhanced magazine, packed with unique and unmatched Penn State 4 J U N E 2 8 , 2 0 1 2 football coverage. With each issue set to increase in size from our current format, you'll get more of the in-depth reporting and storytelling you love without any of the hassles many of you currently experience when receiving your subscription. In short: more stories, and less time spent waiting for the mail to arrive. We've heard all of your complaints, all your frustrations, and all of the problems that have arisen due to the diminish- ing quality of the U.S. Postal Service. Like you, we've finally had enough, and we want to make sure we're providing the best service to you, our reader, that we possibly can. To fur- ther detail our upcoming improvements, we will be mailing a letter to all of our subscribers in June. We are enthusiastic about the direction we're going in and – Phil Grosz are certain you'll feel the same way.
