Recruits to attend Temple game RYAN SNYDER | B L U E WH I T E I L L U S T R A T E d Penn State will host two linemen from the Class of 2014 this weekend. Connor Morehart from Governor Mif- flin Senior in Shillington, Pa., and James McHale of Dunmore, Pa., plan to make the trip to State College for the game against Temple. For the 6-foot-4, 270- pound Morehart, this will be his third recruit- ing visit in as many weeks. He recently checked out Ohio State and Rutgers. The trip to Penn State will be his first experience as a recruit in Beaver Stadium, but it will be far from his first game day in State Col- lege. "I've been going to [Penn State] games MOREHART since I was young," he said. "I've prob- ably been to around 10 games. I live only about three hours away. The last game I was at was Joe [Paterno's] Virginia receiver snags PSU offer Penn State verbally offered a scholarship to three-star wide re- ceiver DaeSean Hamilton Sept. 9. The Stafford, Va., native has earned 12 scholarship offers to this point, including offers from Illinois, Miami, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Michigan State and Boston College. He currently has two dates circled as potential official visits. That means the Nit- tany Lions are one of five schools fighting to earn one of his final three officials. "It's not for sure yet, but I should be going to Virginia when they play Wake Forest [Oct. 20) S E P T E M B E R 400th win. That was a pretty cool game, a great experience." The Penn State coaches currently project Morehart as an offensive line- man, but some schools are interested in him at defensive tackle. At 6-7, 300 pounds, McHale projects to be an offensive tackle at the college level. He'll be visiting Penn State for the second consecutive week, but it won't be his last visit to Happy Valley this season. "I'll be at the game against Temple, the game against Northwestern and the Ohio State game," McHale said. "The only other team I plan to check out right now is Pitt for their game against Louisville in October." Morehart's offer from Rutgers is cur- rently the only verbal scholarship offer between him and McHale. Both, how- ever, currently look as though they'll be two of the top five linemen in Pennsyl- vania when the recruiting rankings are released next spring. and I should be going to Wake For- est whenever they play Vanderbilt [Nov. 29]," Hamilton said. The 6-foot, 180-pounder was honest when asked about Penn State's recent sanctions. As he noted that the NCAA penalties against the Nittany Lion will likely have an impact on his decision. "The sanctions probably will have some impact," he said. "I'm still getting to know the coaches, though. I really like everything they've been telling me so far. I need to do more research on every school, including Penn State." As a junior, Hamilton had 73 re- ceptions for more than 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns. Ri- vals.com currently has him ranked as the 32nd-best wide re- ceiver in the nation, and 14th- best in Virginia. 1 9 , 2 0 1 2 9 PENN STATE RADIO NETWORK - R.S. WAEB.............790-AM.......
