J.C. ARAGONE (2013-17) lost in straight sets to No. 28 Kevin Anderson, who reached the champi- onship match, while Thai-Son Kwiatkowski — who earned a wild card into the main draw after winning the 2017 NCAA singles title as a fourth-year — took No. 23 Mischa Zverev to five sets before falling. It was the first time in program history a pair of products made the singles main draw. Former Cavalier Dominic Inglot also played in the doubles main draw, while Treat Huey had to withdraw from doubles with an injury. Oct. 2, 1894 — Virginia's longest home unbeaten streak of 28 games begins with a 48-0 win over Richmond (the stretch did include one tie). It was broken in a 6-0 loss to Navy on Nov. 19, 1898. Oct. 6, 2005 — The Rolling Stones per- form before a sold-out crowd at Scott Sta- dium. Four years later — almost to the day, on Oct. 1, 2009 — the Cavaliers host legendary rock band U2 for its famous 360° Tour. Oct. 15, 2005 Virginia hosts and upsets No. 4 Florida State 26-21 in front of 63,106 fans, the fourth-largest home crowd and the biggest for a Cavalier win. Quarterback Marques Hagans threw for what was then a career- best 306 yards and two touchdowns, while the defense picked the Seminoles off three times for the school's second top-five win in its history (the first came against No. 2 Florida State 10 years earlier). Hagans was the story after finishing 27-of-36 passing and "avoiding pass rushers all night long," according to the Associ- ated Press. "I've never seen a quarterback make as many one-man plays as he made tonight," FSU's Hall of Fame head coach Bobby Bowden said of Hagans.
