beef now. We have the meat down low so that one guy can come out and we can bring in the next guy, and once he gets a little winded we've got a third. Then a fourth and guess what, we're going to rotate the guys back. I don't know if many teams will have that. BWI So you anticipate John Harrar and Trent Buttrick to be factors there? CHAMBERS They've already had an im- pact in practice. These kids are relent- less. They came in with a different mentality. They came in with a chip on their shoulder. By the way, they were MVPs of their league, all-this, all-that, so they're winners. It's always good to bring winners in, and they both have a football mentality. John competes until the whistle is blown. Somebody obvi- ously taught him at a very early age to play until you hear the whistle. If he doesn't hear it, he's going onto the con- crete in the amin arena, and I think that's been great for Satchel, Julian and Mike to go against because now I'm starting to see it with all of them. BWI Trent as well? CHAMBERS Trent is every bit of 6-8, 235. He's not skinny now and he's now shooting the ball well. I'm really pleased with his shooting. He's been consis- tently making two threes per practice. There's your pick-and-pop four. Al- though I don't want to say Lamar's not, because Lamar is shooting the ball at a very high clip. So there are a lot of posi- tive things, but Trent being the youngest of seven, I don't think I'd call him a wimp. I think he's going to compete. BWI Does Jamari Wheeler give you the depth you're looking for at point guard? CHAMBERS I think the kid has the chance to be the most exciting player, Tim Frazier-like in terms of speed. He's just one of the toughest kids I've ever been around. He's so competitive. Again, he's an MVP, put up 30-some points in games. He's going at Tony Carr like he's the little pitbull who's just going to be gnawing at you constantly. I think in the end it's going to be the best thing for Tony because Jamari is really, really going to push him. He's an excit- ing player to watch. BWI How pleased are you with the way the late-addition class turned out? CHAMBERS I firmly believe this class absolutely fits. We had some holes in the boat, and they absolutely fill those holes because of their toughness, because they're winners, because they're good in the classroom as well. They're competi- tive, they're feisty and they all bring a level of something that we were missing. The speed of Jamari, the toughness of John, and then the toughness and shoot- ing capability of Trent – they're really filling some things that to me, are ex- actly what we needed. They might not be the most highly touted, but I'll tell you what, they're the most prepared and ready. What they did all summer with these guys in the weight room – just un- believable. I'm absolutely blown away by them. BWI What's your perspective on the December Big Ten games, and how chal- lenging will they be? CHAMBERS If you look at the schedule now with those Big Ten games in, I think people have a better understanding of NO NAME POS YR HT WT HOME SCHOOL 1 Deividas Zemgulis F Jr. 6-6 220 Kaunas, Lithuania St. Mary Ryken (Md.) 3 Satchel Pierce F Jr. 7-0 255 Barberton, Ohio Kiski School (Pa.) 4 Nazeer Bostick G So. 6-4 203 Philadelphia, Pa.
