Calif., officially visited NCSU Oct. 5-6 and watched the upset over Florida State. Harrison lived in Greensboro, N.C., for three years. He did not play football until his senior season at Oak Ridge (N.C.) Mili- tary Academy, where he was a teammate of NCSU redshirt freshman defensive tackle Carlos Gray. Harrison, who has emerged as a na- tional-level recruit, has lined up official visits to Iowa State (Nov. 23), Arizona State (Nov. 30) and Texas (Dec. 7). It's notewor- thy that before Harrison moved to Greens- boro he was living in the Houston area. NC State is also one of three finalists for Jaryd Jones-Smith, a 6-6, 320-pounder from West Catholic High in Philadelphia. Jones-Smith camped at NC State over the summer, and he is also considering Virginia and Pittsburgh. Jones-Smith, who is ranked as a two-star prospect, officially visited Virginia Oct. 12, and many believe that the Cavaliers are his leader, but he said that he would not com- mit until he takes all his visits. "I just really want to get to know the coaches a little better on my visits," he told Rivals.com. "I want to meet the players and see what it's like for them." There was a report that NC State may also be able to host Na'Ty Rodgers, a four- star offensive tackle from McDonough High in Pomfret, Md., on an official visit. Rodgers is a former teammate of NC State freshman corner Marchez Coates. The 6-5, 280-pounder is rated by Rivals. com as the No. 228 recruit in the 2013 class, the No. 21 offensive tackle nation- ally and the No. 6 player in Maryland. He has already officially visited Oklahoma, but South Carolina is Rodgers' leader. He intends to announce his decision at the Semper Fi Marine Bowl Jan. 4. Defensive Line If wide receiver Johnathan Alston does not beat him to the punch, defensive end Malik Thompson from Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater High will likely be NC State's next verbal commitment. He confirmed that if all went well on his official visit, which will likely be Nov. 3, he would make a verbal pledge to NCSU. "They want me at my main position, and I just feel really comfortable with every- thing, and I'm really interested in them," he said. "I'm just looking at NC State. That's my main school and focus right now."
