■ FOOTBALL RECRUITING and Central Florida and Florida State had earlier expressed some interest. Rivals.com rates Thompson, a 6-7, 270-pound two- way lineman for Edgewater, as a two-star prospect. The Pack also leads for Chasz Wright, who like Thompson is a tall, two-way line- man. The 6-7, 275-pounder at C.D. Hylton High in Woodbridge, Va., has offers from Connecticut, NC State and Penn State, but he told Rivals.com Oct. 19 that the Pack was his leader. Connecticut and Penn State are recruit- ing the two-star prospect as an offensive lineman, while the Wolfpack likes him on defense. Gilmore is listed by Rivals.com as the No. 202 recruit in the 2013 class, the No. 11 strongside defensive end nationally and the No. 6 prospect in North Carolina. Gilmore had planned to visit NCSU un- officially for the Florida State game Oct. 5, but he did not make the trip. Gilmore has officially visited Florida Sept. 21 and has a trip lined up to LSU for Nov. 3. Those two SEC powers are Gilmore's favorites. Linebacker NC State is hoping to sway Virginia Tech commitment Jamieon Moss of Elizabeth City (N.C.) Northeastern High. They made headway when Moss (6-3, 210 pounds) visited for the Florida State contest. "It was an experience I didn't expect," he said. "I had never really been to some- thing like that. It was amazing out there. It was a crazy game. I had not been to a place like that. The fans were real sup- portive — they love NC State football. "That game was the best game I've been to." Moss claimed that he was still verbally committed to the Hokies, but he admitted he would likely take an official visit to NC State. "If I were to consider another school, A hometown hotel for hometown needs. "NC State is an amazing school." Rivals.com rates Moss as a three-star prospect and the No. 27 player in the state of North Carolina. NC State is also keeping tabs on another recruit committed to a school. Devaris Brunson of Lake City (S.C.) High picked East Carolina in June, but he has visited NC State unofficially on two different oc- casions since then. The first was for a preseason practice in August, and the second was for the Florida State contest. "For now I'm still ECU," Brunson said.
