DECEMBER 2017 23 1st African-American athletics director in ACC history was Lit- tlepage, the Black Coaches Association's Athletics Admin- istrator of the Year in 2003 and 2006. In 2005, he was named one of Black Enterprise magazine's Most Powerful African-Americans In Sports, while Sports Illustrated listed him one of the 101 most influential minorities in sports in 2003 and 2004. 2 Facilities have been built under Littlepage's watch — John Paul Jones Arena (2006) and the George Welsh Indoor Practice Facility (2013) — in addition to countless facility improvements. 3.1 Was the collective grade point average of all UVA student-ath- letes for the 2017 spring semester, the highest such mark since 2003. 13 National team titles in six sports were won under Littlepage's watch, and much of the national success came under coaches he hired, including baseball's Brian O'Connor, men's tennis' Brian Boland and men's basketball's Tony Bennett. 64 ACC titles have been claimed by UVA since the league ex- panded in 2004-05 through the completion of the 2016-17 school year; no program in the conference has won more during that time. 1990 Was Littlepage's first year as part of UVA's athletics administration. He was the assistant athletics direc- tor for a year, then spent the next four years as the associate di- rector of athletics for programs.
