On Saturday, the Nittany Lions finished off Washington, thanks in large part to their refusal to let their Fiesta Bowl opponent finish off their pos- sessions. Facing the top defense in the Pac-12 and one of the best in the country, Penn State con- verted 13 of 17 third-down attempts, an astonish- ing performance that helped negate three turnovers and allowed the Lions to escape with a 35-28 victory.
