Junior cornerback GEORGE ATKINSON III Notre Dame's return game has struggled in SPECIAL TEAMS: 2012, but the electric sophomore running back was able to add a little spark to the unit against the Eagles. His best return was one that he brought out of the end zone to the 35-yard line, and his other two were 22- and 21-yard runbacks to the Notre Dame 26-yard line. Sophomore George Atkinson III had arguably his best game of the season returning kickoffs, averaging 26.0 yards on three attempts with a season-best 35-yard effort against Boston College.
