WHERE HAVE YOU GONE? Notre Dame went into that game as heavy underdogs to No. 3 Florida and fell behind 13-0 before coming back for a 39-28 win. The Irish went to the Cot- ton Bowl in Dawson's junior year, and again the 6-1, 185-pound wide receiver got the offense rolling with a 40-yard touchdown on a screen pass. Notre Dame beat Texas A&M easily, 28-3. Most of Dawson's work these days teammates. "We're going to find out whether is done well before bowl season rolls around. He said he normally starts preparing for the draft each season by building a dossier on prospective seniors in early June and following their progress throughout the year. He watches hours of game film to find the right players for the Titans, but said the most important part of his draft preparation is the series of interviews he does with each potential player and that player's former coaches and the guy is a good football player or a bad football player," Dawson said. "But what we try to do is get on the character of the person and on the fit. We try to research how well he'll fit into the culture of our team and the culture of our head coach, and more importantly to what our offense and defensive coaches want to do." Away from the office, Dawson stays busy and in shape by chasing his three children, Bella, 11, Miles, 10, and Layla, 8. "The football days are definitely long gone," he said. "I don't mind sit- ting in a chair evaluating football. No more running routes or things of that nature. I'm just enjoying being a dad and a husband and having some suc- cess in Tennessee." ✦ VIDEO: CLICK PLAY TO WATCH ON INTERACTIVE VERSION
