Another game, Georgetown-Florida Morale Entertainment President Mike Whalen said his group and the Patri- ots Point Development Authority will try to find solutions so future games such as this can be held to open each basketball season. The first Carrier Classic was held outside San Diego in 2011 when North Carolina and Michigan State played on the USS Carl Vinson. This year's games were held to benefit the Congressional Medal of Honor So- ciety, the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, and the Wounded Warrior Project.
