WHAT HE DID Originally from Ontario,
Luketa transferred to Mercyhurst Prep in
Erie, Pa., for his sophomore season to
help achieve his dream of playing major-
college football. He started all three
years he attended Mercyhurst. Following
a 1-9 season as a sophomore, he played a
major role in turning the team around,
as the Lakers went 6-4 in 2016 and then
10-1 this past season. In his :nal year at
Mercyhurst, Luketa :nished with 80
tackles, including seven tackles for loss.
He also had three interceptions, four
sacks, six pass de;ections, three forced
fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
However, the Lakers' title aspirations
ended with a 21-14 loss to Sharon in the
second round of the playo
