C O M BWI X PRESS Penn State has been on a commitment binge the past few weeks, adding six players to what had been a three-member recruiting class as of mid- May. Among those who have recently announced for the Nittany Lions are elite Virginia prospects Devyn Ford, Brandon Smith and Hakeem Bea- mon. Ford, a five-star running back as rated by Rivals.com, is the most highly regarded player in Penn State's class so far, while Beamon, a defen- sive end, and Smith, a linebacker, have both re- ceived four stars from Rivals. In addition, the Lions shored up their secondary with commitments from a trio of defensive backs: JaQuan Brisker of Lackawanna College in Scran- ton, Pa., Tyler Rudolph of Oakdale, Conn., and R E C R U I T I N G R E P O R T J U N E 8 N E W S L E T T E R Ford is the na- tion's top run- ning back according to Ri- vals.com.
