166 ■ THE WOLVERINE 2018 FOOTBALL PREVIEW BY BRANDON BROWN T he 2013 cycle was Brady Hoke's third crack at putting together a recruiting class, and he and his staff appeared very successful — at least on paper. Containing 27 members and coming in at No. 5 nationally in Rivals.com's team rankings, the group was expected to launch Hoke and crew into elite status. Instead, the class struggled to win anything of major value. Of the 27 signees, 11 players went on to have very fruitful careers at Michigan and are looked at as "hits" in the group. Three more made their way onto the field but didn't leave a significant mark on the program, and a whopping 13 didn't finish their careers as Wolverines. Players from the class were involved in 40 wins and 24 losses at Michigan, and finished 1-3 in bowl games. The 2013 group also went 0-5 against Ohio State and 1-4 versus the Spartans.
