michigan recruiting California Wideout Delays Decision Westlake Village, Calif., wide receiver Jordan Payton planned a decision for Oct. 25 between Michigan, Notre Dame and California. The Wolverines had been leading for his services, and Payton was expected to pick Michigan. However, following an excellent visit to Notre Dame the previous weekend, Payton has decided to put a commitment on hold while he considers his college options. Wide receiver Jordan Payton, seen here with U-M defensive coordinator Greg Mattison on a recruiting visit, will chose between Michigan, Notre Dame and California. Photo courtesy Rivals.com Since Michigan is losing three receivers following the 2011 season, and the need for a player at the position is strong. Payton has not determined a new timeline for making a decision, but may take more official visits, including one to Penn State. 2012 Recruiting Updates Canton (Ohio) GlenOak running back Brionte Dunn Dunn is currently committed to Ohio State, but is leaving the door open for Michigan and plans to visit Ann Arbor this fall. His 6-2, 225-pound frame is designed for power running, and Michigan is seeking a back like him. Dunn is listed as a four-star prospect, the No.10 running back in the country and the No.141 player in the nation by Rivals.com. West Des Moines (Iowa) wide receiver Amara Darboh Darboh has been out with an injury this season, but recently returned to action in the playoffs. A 6-1, 190-pound speedster and Rivals.coms No.28 wide receiver in the land, he plans to visit Ann Arbor for Michigans game against Ohio State, and a decision could come soon after. Lakewood (Wash.) Lakes offensive lineman Zach Banner Banner was high on Michigan following his visit to Ann Arbor, but the shine has worn off, and he seems to be favoring Oklahoma over the Wolverines. He has more than enough size, at 6-9, 320 pounds, to succeed in college. Rivals.com ranks the four-star recruit as the No.7 offensive tackle and No. 38 overall player nationally. Chicago Simeon offensive lineman Jordan Diamond Diamonds recruitment appears to be on pause, but the 6-6, 290-pound road grader is considering a visit to Michigan for the Ohio State game, so there is still mutual interest. He doesnt plan to decide until February. Rivals.com ranks Diamond as the No. 6 player in Illinois, the No. 25 offensive tackle nationally and the No. 226 prospect in the country. Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep defensive back Yuri Wright Wright, the nations No. 3 cornerback according to Rivals.com, grew up a Michigan fan, and the Wolverines are strong in his recruitment. A visit to Ann Arbor for the Ohio State game would be a huge boost to Michigans recruiting effort. Michigan Banners the wolverine P.O. box 2331 Durham, Nc 27702 Qty.
