You pick a time: practice here, then go to the [Stephen Ross] Academic Center here, and you get into a schedule. The A.C. is awesome,. Im over there all the time. That structured schedule has helped him focus on the ice, too. Moffie ranked second on the team in plus/minus through Oct. 28, with a plus-11 rating, and he had posted one goal and five assists on the offensive end. Last year, Moffie decided to major in history. He said he took a few classes in the department with fellow teammates, and those were always his favorites. Moffie, a sixth-round draft pick of the San Jose Sharks in the 2010 NHL Draft, said he has no idea what he wants to do professionally when his hockey career ends. Ive always liked history, and I like traveling, Moffie said. Its nice to learn about different places around the world. Hopefully when hockeys done Ill get a chance to travel a little bit. That would be nice. This year, Moffie decided to add a concentration in Italian. Although he doesnt have any prior experience with the Italian language, Moffie is picking it up quickly. Moffie had one goal and five assists through Oct. 28, and he ranked second on the team in plus/minus with a plus-11 rating. Photo by lon horwedel My favorite part of history is probably Roman history. Ive always been interested in Italy, Moffie said. I thought it would be good to get into it now. Id like to go to Rome, and itd be nice to be able to communicate when I do. Andy Reid Getting To Know Hockey Assistant Coach Brian Wiseman A former All-American during his skating career with the Michigan hockey team from 1991-94, Brian Wiseman returned to Ann Arbor in June to become an assistant coach for Red Berenson. On his playing days: My whole experience was very memorable. It was a tremendous time for me. We had a very large group, my classmates, but we were very close and still remain close. Favorite Restaurant: I would have to say Cottage Inn has always been a favorite of mine, even going back to my playing days, and eating pregame and postgame meals there. And my family has taken An All-American during his Michigan hockey playquite a liking to it as well. There are ing days, Wiseman returned to Ann Arbor in June to other restaurants weve really become an assistant coach. enjoyed the downtown. photo courtesy u-m sports information Perfect Meal: A nice cooked medium-rare steak. First Spot He Took His Family To: Yost was our first stop coming down State Street from the airport. But just getting up through campus, we took an early tour on a Friday night before one of the football games, and the atmosphere was incredible. My girls had a sense of what Michigan was all about from that, and then they enjoyed the football game against Notre Dame. They love the atmosphere at Michigan, especially at Yost, even though it can get better as we move forward here in our season. Hockey Movie: I liked Miracle. That was a good doc Michael Spath November 2011 the wolverine 15
