Commitment Updates Games played Sept. 14-15 unless otherwise noted RECRUITING NOTES • With limited space left in the class of 2019, Notre Dame isn't expected to add many new offers before the early signing period in December. However, the Irish are hard at work evaluating prospects in the class of 2020 and recently extended an offer to Justin Flowe, a five-star linebacker from Upland (Calif.) High. Flowe, the No. 1 outside linebacker and No. 3 overall player in the class of 2020 ac- cording to Rivals, holds a long list of offers from schools early in his junior year, including Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Michigan, Florida State, Ohio State, Oklahoma and USC. • Over the weekend of the Vanderbilt game, Notre Dame hosted Rivals250 wide receiver Collin Sullivan, a four-star prospect from Round Rock (Texas) High. Sullivan, Rivals' No. 117 overall player in the nation, called the visit "amazing," and said he loved getting to spend time with wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander. Sullivan first vis- ited Notre Dame for a skills camp over the summer and was eager to return and experience the game-day atmosphere in South Bend. Notre Dame has yet to offer Sullivan, but if he does eventually get one the Irish should be squarely in the mix. Sullivan currently holds offers from, among others, Arkansas, Oregon, Baylor, Purdue, Northwest- ern, Arizona and Houston. • Thanks to the national schedule of Montvale (N.J.) St. Joseph's, Rivals South- east analyst Chad Simmons got to see Notre Dame commit Howard Cross, Rivals' No. 24 strongside defensive end in the country, in action when his team took on Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage in a neutral-site game in Georgia. "Cross is a technician," Simmons said. "He is a strong defensive lineman that plays with leverage and active hands. He showed he could set the edge, work his hands and get up the field against Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage. "He is smart, and he is one who can be moved around the defensive front. His tech- nique was as impressive as anything. He is just a sound defender. His pad level is good and that won him some battles against an offensive tackle that was bigger than him. Cross looks like a good fit for the Irish." — Corey Bodden and David McKinney Follow @BGI_CoreyBodden and @BGI_DMcKinney on Twitter for daily recruiting updates available on BlueandGold.com!
