He can play man to man and run vertical with anyone, but we can also play him in the box and he can be physical against the run. — Benedictine head coach Danny Britt (The Savannah News) Prospects are being brought in by NC State as "blueshirts." It is a technique used by coaches to get around scholarship limitations. Colleges do not conduct any official recruiting business with the players, such as official visits, and do not comment on their addition. The players are treated as preferred walk-ons and wait to the first day of preseason camp to arrive, at which point they are awarded scholarships and allowed to count ahead to the next class. Head coach Dave Doeren has used the blueshirt in the past with former starting linebacker Airius Moore and rising redshirt freshman punter Mackenzie Morgan. This year's blueshirts are: Running back Delbert Mimms III, Indianapolis (Ind.) Ben Davis High Long snapper Joe Shimko, Wall (N.J.) Township High Tight end Kam Walker, Canton (N.C.)
