snapshot NEAR PERFECT 10 The Virginia rowing team claimed its 10th consecu- tive ACC title May 18 in Clemson, S.C. The Cavaliers won four of the five races — the varsity eight, second varsity eight, third varsity eight and second varsity four — and have now won 19 of the 20 ACC titles and 77 of 85 races in the annual event. "To win four of five at this competition is really hard," head coach Kevin Sauer told VirginiaSports. com. "We were able to get those wins against some great competition, and I'm really proud of the team." UVA's varsity eight (above) of fourth-year coxswain Izzi Weiss, plus redshirt fourth-year Anna Fairs, fourth- year Heidi Long, third-years Reilly White and Lizzie Trull, and second-years Emily Ashton, Jamey Bulloch, Sophia Kershner and Carrie Warner was named the ACC Crew of the Year. Redshirt fourth-year Sophie Pennoyer, Fairs, Long and Weiss were named to the All-ACC first team. Fourth- year Mackenzie King was a second-team selection. UVA was set to take part in its 22nd NCAA Champi- onships in the last 23 years May 31-June 2 at India- napolis. PHOTOS COURTESY UVA
