From the Desk of the VAF Development Intern Hello Cavalier Fans! With spring right around the corner, the activity in the Virginia Athletics Foundation office has greatly increased! This is one of my favorite times of the year: Winter sports approach the end of their regular seasons in hopes to make it to post season play, spring sports have officially commenced, and the events calendar at the VAF is full of exciting happenings. As I continue working with the suites and events team, there are many things we will be coordinating in the coming weeks. The men's and women's basketball teams are welcoming back alumni as they host their respective reunions surrounding the Florida State game for the women's team and the Maryland game for the men's team. This is an especially fun event for me as I get to spend time with so many of the great student-athlete alumni that helped to build these programs to where they are today. The VAF Social Tour dates are officially set, and you can find them listed below. The Social Tour has long been a way for VAF to keep donors in touch with all that's happening in the athletics program. I am really looking forward to being a part of some of this season's stops. We have some great speakers lined up for you. The Social Tour provides a way to interact with longtime donors and to meet new donors in venues in their communities. The Earth, Wind & Fire concert, a free concert jointly arranged by the Virginia Athletics Foundation and the athletics department to honor and thank our donors, was a huge success! I really enjoyed being part of the team that coordinated the event and it was exciting to see the evening come together. As a studentathlete alumna, I am very proud to have been a part of these past 10 years in Virginia athletics, which was being celebrated at this event. So much has been accomplished throughout this period of time — it is a huge milestone. At one point during the program, I looked around the entire arena and I was encouraged to see so many individuals committed to Virginia athletics.
