12 THE WOLVERINE NOVEMBER 2019 INSIDE MICHIGAN ATHLETICS BY THE NUMBERS [Redshirt freshman right tackle Jalen] Mayfield continues to execute his assign- ments with a high level of nastiness and tenacity. It looks like he's settling in to a comfort level of knowing what's expected of him and understand- ing how to block in this offense." — Former U-M All-Big Ten offensive lineman and TheWolverine.com analyst Doug Skene, analyzing May- field's play after the Wolverines' 42-25 win at Illinois Oct. 12 86.5 Is the PFF grade of junior defensive end KWITY PAYE, an elite mark, after the season's first eight weeks. That is tied for 13th among all edge rushers who have played at least 200 snaps through Oct. 21. Ranked 34th nationally with the same pa- rameters is sophomore Aidan Hutchin- son (81.3), while senior Josh Uche is tied for 42nd (79.8) and graduate transfer Michael Danna checked in at No. 45 (79.2). No other school in the country has more than two such players in the top 50. 10th Is the national Rivals.com ranking of new basketball commit ISAIAH TODD; if he signs and retains his listing he would be the Wolver- ines' highest-ranked signee of the Rivals.com era (since 2002), surpassing the previous best of Glen Robinson III, who was ranked 11th overall in the 2012 class. The Wolverines also have a pledge from point guard Zeb Jackson, who is ranked 58th. The program has not signed a single recruit ranked in the top 59 since Kameron Chatman (No. 25) in 2014, and it has not inked a five-star prospect since 2013 (Zak Irvin, No. 24) — the latter was also the last time the squad added a pair of top-60 prospects in the same class. 93 Percent was Michigan's four-year average Gradua- tion Success Rate (GSR) released in mid-October as part of the 2019 annual GSR and Federal Graduation Rate (FGR) reports, which matched a school record and ranked third in the Big Ten. The school's FGR of 79 was just two percentage points off its all-time high of 81 set in 2017 and tied in 2018. Eleven of the 24 varsity athletic programs earned perfect four-year GSR scores: men's basketball, women's basketball, men's golf, women's golf, men's gymnastics, women's gym- nastics, rowing, softball, men's ten- nis, volleyball and wrestling. U-M was the only school in the Big Ten with per- fect GSR scores in both men's and women's basketball, while the football team's mark of 91 ranked second in the league.
