commitment profile Film Evaluation Strengths: Ways is a big, physical receiver who can use his body to box out defenders and protect his hands when he's waiting for the ball. That size also allows him to be a capable blocker, and a jump-ball threat when his high school quarterback throws it up — a trait that should help him in college. Ways also has a knack for the spectacular. Acrobatic catches are possible thanks to his arm length and leaping ability, and he has very good athleticism and feeling to get up field after he makes a catch. Areas Of Improvement: Though he can make unbelievable catches, Ways also shows that he needs to work on concentration to make all the routine ones, as well. He will drop some easy passes and short-arm the ball in traffic. Adding muscle will help him beat defenders, and lower-body strength will not only give him the ability to break tackles, but also get off the line of scrimmage quickly, so he doesn't have to rely on top-end speed to get open. Michigan Player Comparison: Braylon Edwards (2001‑04) made spectacular plays throughout his Michigan career as a big, fast, physical wide receiver. He also had negatives to his game with occasional drops. Ways will have to develop into a vicious blocker (and polished receiver) to match Edwards. — Analysis from TheWolverine.com
