inside michigan athletics Michigan Basketball Gives Out Final Awards Sophomore Trey Burke, to the surprise of no one, took home the Bill Buntin Most Valuable Player Award, when the Wolverines conducted the 52nd annual U-M Basketball Awards Celebration on April 16 at Crisler Center. Burke, the consensus National Player of the Year who is now a finalist for Sports Illustrated's Male College Athlete of the Year award, wrapped up his Michigan career by guiding the Wolverines to the national championship game. Burke has declared for the NBA Draft. He averaged career bests in points (18.6), assists (6.67), field goal accuracy (46.3 percent), threepoint shooting (38.4 percent), free throw shooting (80.1 percent) and steals (1.59) this season.
