a 35-point game last season against Michigan football pledge and basketball standout Drake Harris of Grand Rapids Christian. He's been up and down since, but he's skilled, has plenty of upside and has received 16 scholarship offers. "I can't name all of them off the top of my head because I don't want to leave anybody out," he said. Arizona State, Iowa State, Northwestern, Rhode Island, Penn, Oakland and others have made him a priority. U-M and MSU coaches want to see more of him. "Both of them are telling me to keep working," Turner said. "I have been up to both schools, and I really like both schools. They want me to keep working and keep going through the process." ❏ 2013 basketball recruiting issue 2014 Pledge Ricky Doyle Is Already Preparing For Michigan Fort Myers (Fla.) Bishop Verot big man and Michigan pledge Ricky Doyle didn't play much as a junior, sidelined by a stress fracture in his foot, but that didn't keep college coaches from coming after him. Doyle is Michigan's and Michigan's alone, though, following his March 11 commitment. U-M's recent NCAA Tournament run only convinced him doyle and those around him how perfect an addition he will be at Michigan. "It was interesting how many people who hadn't watched Michigan much from down here saw the tournament and said, 'What a great fit,'" Bishop Verot head coach Matt Herting recalled. "They said, 'He looks like one of them right now.' "His skillset, the things he can do, fit in perfectly in John Beilein's system. One thing he is really good at is pick and pop, pick and roll. We don't use that much here because we don't need to, but we're doing a lot of different work on pick and roll and pick and pop to get him ready." Doyle (6-9, 240, 7-2 wingspan) played in only eight games last year due to his injury, and averaged 21.7 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.6 blocked shots and 0.9 assists per contest. He's fully recovered from his injury and playing well, Herting reported. Doyle is getting plenty of open gym time with local college players and improving his game. Watching Michigan's run to the title game was a highlight of the year for both Doyle and his coach. "It was awesome, especially knowing that's where Ricky is going to be," Herting said. "I've gotten to know the coaching staff, and I was pulling for them." — Chris Balas
