2013 basketball recruiting issue Including playing inside and out, a quality Michigan coaches undoubtedly love about him. • Diamond Stone, C, Milwaukee Dominican: The 6-10, 255-pound Stone is one of the best players in his class, having already received offers from some of the nation's top programs. He's visited Indiana and is hearing from North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky, Michigan and others. "Stone is a big and strong kid with great hands with an old-school understanding of how to operate in the low post," Rivals.com's Eric Bossi said. "He is efficient in the paint, scores with either hand at the rim, uses the glass … and Stone is no slouch when it comes to facing the rim. He rebounds at a high rate and has done some good work in the gym to stone become more lean while managing to add strength." Michigan is one of many schools in the mix, but isn't considered a favorite. • Sedrick Barefield, PG, Corona (Calif.) Centennial: Some on the West Coast compare the 6-2, 180-pound Barefield to Trey Burke. Rivals.com's No. 38 rising junior nationally has earned offers from Boston College and Kansas State, and could pick one up from Michigan if he visits this summer as expected. UCLA, Arizona and others are also involved. "My strength is getting up and down the court and scoring. My transition game is really good," Barefield said recently. "I'm a good shooter, and my onball defending has improved a lot since last year." Barefield averaged 15.6 points and 5.1 assists per game as a sophomore. U-M could be a legitimate threat to land him should he visit. • Hyron Edwards, East Chicago (Ind.) High: Edwards' stock has fallen a bit since last year, but he's still a four-star prospect and likely among the top 100 in his class. He averaged 14.8 points and 6.7 assists per game, and is among those U-M is looking at for the point guard position. "Michigan is great," he said. "They had a great season, and they have a lot of local guys, Glenn [Robinson III], Spike [Albrecht] and Mitch [McGary]. Those are my guys. I know them pretty well. "I watched them every time they came on. It was great seeing them in the national championship. The guys I know, from high school to college, edwards they've just won. It was great."
