School Commits Class Of 2021 Scholarship Offer Master List 2021 Master List Changes Prospects Removed: None. • When a Notre Dame target commits to another school, he is removed from the master list, but that doesn't mean that the Irish's pursuit of the prospect is over. With this in mind, two recruits were added back to the 2021 master list. Ocala (Fla.) Trinity Catholic's Caleb Johnson, who is ranked as the nation's No. 34 offensive tackle by Rivals, com- mitted to Auburn over Notre Dame back in May, but the Irish staff has maintained contact with him. Valrico (Fla.) Bloomingdale's Philip Ri- ley, who Rivals views as the No. 24 cor- nerback and No. 241 overall recruit in the nation, flipped his commitment from Notre Dame to USC in September, but the Irish are still involved in his recruitment. Highland Springs (Va.) High's Kelvin Gil- liam, an Oklahoma verbal who is rated as the No. 7 defensive tackle and No. 79 overall prospect in America per Rivals, has been added to the list. Gilliam never reported the offer publicly when he received it in late October, but Blue & Gold Illustrated confirmed that he did garner it. All three of these recruits were mentioned — as well as a handful of oth- ers — on page 44. • In the previous issue of BGI, it was reported that in late October Notre Dame offered New Roads (La.) Catholic of Pointe Coupee class of 2021 safety Matthew Langlois, who is listed as a three-star recruit by Rivals. Twenty-four hours after he received an offer from Notre Dame, he committed to LSU. Three days after Notre Dame offered Langlois, it dished out an offer to Lafay- ette (La.) St. Thomas More's Jack Bech, a four-star athlete and the No. 9 recruit in Louisiana per Rivals. Two days after he received his scholarship offer from the Irish, he also committed to LSU. The Irish need all the luck they can get going into Louisiana and trying to beat the Tigers for recruits. • Notre Dame is not allowed to host recruits on campus due to the NCAA's dead period, and the Irish's ticket policies do not allow the general public to get into home games. So even if prospects wanted to buy a ticket to a game, they couldn't. But that's not stopping recruits from gathering in South Bend and seeing the campus. The following Notre Dame commits said they were planning to be in town when the Irish hosted Clemson: Wadsworth (Ohio) High tight end Mitchell Evans, Avon (Ind.) High offensive tackle Blake Fisher, Atlanta Pace Academy wide receiver Jayden Thomas and Bolingbrook (Ill.) High safety Justin Walters. Honolulu Punahou linebacker target Kahanu Kia, a Rivals three-star recruit, will also be on campus, which was outlined on page 44. — Mike Singer Notre Dame is still pursuing some 2021 recruits that have commit- ted to other schools, including Oklahoma pledge Kelvin Gilliam of Highland Springs (Va.) High. Rivals rates him as the nation's No. 7 defensive tackle and No. 79 overall prospect.
