ichigan's women's bas-
ketball season come to an
abrupt end in March 2020,
after the team had won
five of its last seven games, including
a signature win over No. 11 North-
western in the Big Ten Tournament.
Entering her ninth season at the
helm and as the winningest head
coach in program history, Kim
Barnes Arico is aiming to continue
U-M's ascent after posting a 21-11
record last year.
"We were super disappointed,"
Barnes Arico said of last season,
which was cut short due to the CO-
VID-19 pandemic. "We had a great
run at the end of the season. Our
team was playing for each other, and
we were playing for Kayla Robbins,
who was our lone senior and went
down late in the season with an ACL
injury.
"We just felt we were playing great
basketball and really feeling great
about our opportunities in the NCAA
Tournament."
An annual goal for the team is cap-
