here wasn't an open-to-
the-public spring game this
year, meaning thousands of
would-be coaches couldn't
draw conclusions off 90 minutes of
scrimmage play. Let the conjecture,
guessing and projections ensue.
It's not as if there's a complete news
blackout, though. Some coaches have
spoken to the media at large, or at
least to Michigan's reporting staff in

enrollee freshman J.J. McCarthy and
