Because 2020 was a "free" year of eligibility per the NCAA, everybody's class eligibility is repeated from last fall. OFFENSE Quarterback No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 12 Cade McNamara 6-1 205 R-Fr. 9 J.J. McCarthy 6-3 195 Fr. Note: Texas Tech transfer Alan Bowman will join the team this summer to try to compete for the starting job. Running Back No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 25 Hassan Haskins 6-1 220 R-So. 2 Blake Corum 5-8 200 Fr. 7 Donovan Edwards 5-11 190 Fr. Notes: On paper, one of the best trios of backs Michigan has had in a while. Haskins was the most impressive of the three in the spring game. Wide Receiver No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 8 Ronnie Bell 6-0 190 Jr. 1 Andrel Anthony 6-2 180 Fr. Note: Anthony has been one of the spring's top surprises, a speedster who made an impression. Wide Receiver No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 6 Cornelius Johnson 6-3 205 So. 14 Roman Wilson 6-0 180 Fr. Note: Johnson was one of the two receivers who stood out most this spring according to offensive coordinator Josh Gattis. Slot Receiver No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 19 Mike Sainristil 5-10 183 So. 3 A.J. Henning 5-10 185 Fr. Note: Sainristil is the other receiver Gattis cited as making a move this spring. He's come on strong. Tight End No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 83 Erick All 6-4 229 So. 86 Luke Schoonmaker 6-5 252 R-So. 88 Matt Hibner 6-3 233 Fr. Note: All had an incredibly impressive spring game, catching everything thrown his way and showing an ability to gain separation. His estimated numbers — four receptions for 60- plus yards in a half. Left Tackle No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 76 Ryan Hayes 6-7 302 R-So. 52 Karsen Barnhart 6-4 301 R-Fr. Note: Defensive end Taylor Upshaw called Hayes the toughest lineman to get around this spring, citing his long arms and improved strength. Left Guard No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 77 Trevor Keegan 6-6 327 R-Fr. or 66 Chuck Filiaga 6-6 345 R-Jr. Note: Barnhart has been banged up but could get a look here, as well. They're trying to get their five best on the field this fall. Center No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 68 Andrew Vastardis 6-3 296 6th-Sr. 51 Greg Crippen 6-4 285 Fr. or 74 Reece Atteberry 6-5 284 Fr. Note: Atteberry missed some time this spring. Crippen has been one of the most pleasant surprises, doing everything asked of him and more. Right Guard No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 65 Zak Zinter 6-6 334 Fr. 70 Nolan Rumler 6-3 328 R-Fr. Note: Zinter is the "bell cow" of the line, per Gattis, and can play center, as well. He could be Michigan's next great up front. Right Tackle No. Player Ht. Wt. Class 71 Andrew Stueber 6-7 339 R-Jr. 52 Karsen Barnhart 6-4 301 R-Fr. Note: Stueber has had a great spring, per Zinter, and contin- ues to improve.
