hen Ben Broussard
was hired about a year
ago to become the new
executive director of
the Wolfpack Club,
he asked associate ex-
ecutive director Buzzy
Correll to come up
with a list of the top 50 student-athletes ever
to play at NC State.
Correll used The Wolfpacker contributor
Tim Peeler as a source to help him comprise
the list, and there was a purpose to Brous-
sard's task.
With a new initiative called the Founda-
tion of Champions, NC State's Wolfpack
Club is offering a unique way to celebrate
the athletic history for the Red and White,
while simultaneously building for the future
by contributing to the organization's endow-
ment funds in honor of a Wolfpack favorite.
"This is a program that is designed to tie
our best donors with the best student-ath-
letes, coaches and administrators," Broussard
explained. "This is a way to honor the past
while taking care of the future. It's important
