4 THE WOLVERINE SEPTEMBER 2021 QUESTION ON A LEGEND Dear The Wolverine, What happened to Denard Robin- son? Mike King Paducah, Ky. Mr. King, Robinson coached for the NFL's Jackson- ville Jaguars in 2020, but we hope to have a more detailed update on the legendary U-M quarterback in a future issue. FROM OUR WEBSITE On some of the early returns from Michigan's preseason camp, includ- ing that the linebackers had been one of the top performing position groups through the first week … • If the linebackers step up like we are hearing, that will be a blessing! We need to say the same thing about the OL. They will need to protect and es- tablish the run. We know what the is- sues are on the DL. Depth, depth and talent. MaizeNBlue1817 • I think we should all be excited about Aidan Hutchinson's role. After years of base defense under Don Brown, having a defensive coordinator bring a scheme that moves a guy like Hutch into a hy- brid type of position is extremely en- couraging. Not necessarily because it's Hutch, but because we're going to have a scheme with flexible personnel that can create issues pre-snap for offenses. … The Ravens have made a living off adjusting their defense to the individual strengths of their otherwise uninspiring defensive roster; hopefully that's what we're about to see play out here. ch13ba • We should be average at least on both lines, hopefully the LBs can cover up the depth issues on the DL. Worried about teams just running down our throats unless the LBs can stop it. IndyWolverine23 • 1. Great to hear QB is on the list [of the top five position groups early on in camp]. It always SHOULD be, but that hasn't been the case for some time. 2. Stunning that LB is No. 1. 3. Disappointing that OL isn't on the list. Hopefully because they're still experimenting, because the talent should be there. bluex2 • I am slightly bullish on the over of 7.5 wins with all the talk. The tal- ent is there, let's just see if the youth mistakes occur less frequently, and the leadership and togetherness over- come some of the lacking spots. Trailhiker10 • Agree with a lot of sentiment on here. If our OL and DL can play above average, we stand a really good shot. If they play average or below, it will be another long season.
