OCTOBER 2021 THE WOLVERINE 5   FROM OUR READERS Offensively, the worry is the QB-WR connection. I think Ronnie Bell's loss feels much bigger than originally thought. Ronnie appears to be the guy Cade McNamara had the most confi- dence in winning one-on-one match- ups. Great opening two games for this sea- son. Very fun games to watch. Super happy with how things stand so far. Nexu On running backs Hassan Haskins and Blake Corum … • Feel the RBs on this team are the best since [Jim] Harbaugh became the coach. Corum has the best first step I've seen since Tim [Biakabutuka]. mi70 • My two cents is that the early MVP is [running backs coach] Mike Hart. The RBs have clearly developed patience to wait for that last springing block to develop. And on passing. Bo's theory was that for every pass there were two bad results to one good. If Washington wasn't going to bring their 20-yard- deep safety to help against the run, why would we not call it over and over again? MW9497 • Agree. And, through two games at least, Hart seems to have great instincts when it comes to rotating Haskins and Corum. Last year, the RB substitution patterns seemed almost random and did not allow our backs to get into any kind of rhythm. Between proper rota- tion and teaching Corum to be more patient, Hart has improved our running game 10 fold. texwolve On Aidan Hutchinson's start to the season, which includes seven solo tackles, three sacks and a forced fum- ble in two games … • I am just trying to think when the last time we had a two-game stretch where we had a player on D play the way Aidan has played through these past two games. He just pops out when you watch the game. Neither WMU or Washington had any answer for him — I mean he was all over the place! Last time I remember someone hav- ing this stretch perhaps was Khaleke Hudson? Perhaps well before that? I re- member Brandon Graham being great, but don't remember this dominant a two-game stretch. What a heck of a player Aidan is. He keeps this up, he will be a top-five pick. hail2michigan ILikeJakeButtICannotLie • Mo Hurst and Graham are the two most recent examples of players who single-handedly destroyed offenses over an entire season. You could argue for Jourdan Lewis too, though that's more subtle. KittenMittensNYC • Add Jabrill Peppers and Devin Bush to that list. shorter • Playing like a top-15 pick. His wing- span and motor are ridiculous. I still re- member when he committed and was 6-3, and some on the board accused the staff of only offering because of his last name. joelhindy1 • I'll add that he has been put in a position to absolutely maximize his ability in this defense. He'd have been great as well as a DE in a more tradi- tional 4-3, but what Macdonald has done with him … wow. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the first defensive player picked in April. ch13ba This book tells the greatest football story that has never been completely told—until now!
