■ wolfpack club news 2013 Wolfpack Club BBQ Bowl The hogs were cooking, despite the heavy rain during the 2013 Wolfpack Club BBQ Bowl on April 19 and 20. Fourteen teams braved the storms and camped out in the RV parking lot of Carter-Finley stadium on Friday night to prove that they had the best pig in the Pack! Judging began at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, with TowBoat NC cooking team (captained by Jason O'Briant) as our first team up to bat. The judges thoroughly inspected each team's pig and many enjoyed the Wolfpack scenery at the cooking sights. Throughout the morning, Wolfpack fans from near and far came to enjoy the live music, BBQ Plates and Kids Fun Zone at Carter Finley Stadium, before the kick off of the 2013 Kay Yow Spring game. A highlight of the day for everyone was the BBQ Bowl Celebrity Judging Competition, with our very own Wolfpack athletes, both current and former, as our judges. This year, Tyler Lewis, Scott Wood, Terrance Holt and Earl Woff picked their perfect pig of the pack. Tyler Lewis chose Big Bad Wolf (captained by Bruce Daniel and Chris Laxton), Scott Wood chose Walk to NC State (captained by Simon Everett) and Terrance Holt and Earl Wolff both chose team Running with the Pack (captained by Adam Compton) as their number one. In the end it was Mike Hall's Cookin' Team (captained by Mike Hall) that took home the ultimate prize and will be representing the Wolfpack Club in the 2013 NC Pork Council BBQ competition in the fall. Second place team was Big Bad Wolf (captained by Bruce Daniel and Chris Laxton), followed by Red Wuf Tailgate (captained by Phil Price) in a very close third. Thanks to all that participated in this year's Wolfpack Club BBQ Bowl and best of luck to Mike Hall's Cookin' Team in the NC Pork Council competition.
