4 THE WOLVERINE JUNE / JULY 2022 There is no right answer in the J.J. McCarthy/Cade McNamara starting QB debate … • We will win BIG with either starting or coming off the bench or rotating. They are both THAT good with their own differing winning skill sets to of- fer. The idea that you have to pick one QB is baloney in this unusual case. As the old saying goes: "When you have two big guns, shoot both of them!" Wichita Blue • If we want to win the Big Ten AND have a QB throw for 6,000 yards and 40 TDs, then we need JJ. PurpleArgyle • Yes, rotating QBs is a well-known, great recipe for success. eo0707 • We can win the B1G with Cade. He likely won't lose us the B1G. But we can't win it all with Cade. Our ceiling is a national championship with JJ. Give him the ball. aFanGoBlue • I don't know. I was led to believe you can't beat Ohio State or win a B1G championship with Cade. So, I'm a bit skeptical about placing a ceiling on him at this point. Lummy78 • That's your opinion. hungry for a win • You just have to love both these kids. Such a strange dynamic. Impos- sible not to root for either. Cade's workmanlike approach and leader- ship. JJ's recent comments about be- ing at Michigan and how he doesn't want to leave. Tough call for the coaches. Wouldn't mind seeing something similar to what we saw this year with maybe a little more JJ sprinkled in there. I'm being Captain Obvious here, but JJ just provides such a different stress level for defenses when he comes in. But then again, Cade is so [Brian] Griese circa '97. Schemy21 • I really thought one of them would be gone by now. The coaches cer- tainly get some credit for a "winning culture" by doing whatever they did to keep them both here and seem- ingly happy and willing to compete. WashingtonAlston Regarding the news of U-M point guard Frankie Collins entering the transfer portal … • Some of these responses … are completely unhinged. I'm as disap- pointed as the next person, but some of you folks are downright vindictive. We sure do love our Michigan men … until we don't, upon which we levy every pejorative under the sun. Un- less you're against any undergraduate player ever transferring into Michigan, then you might just be a hypocrite. Get a grip, folks. Dr_Bell83 • I think most are just criticizing the system at this point and Frankie is an example. Seems silly for him to leave. I hope he becomes a millionaire play- ing ball but personally don't under- stand him leaving … without more info, of course. GCWolverine • Thank you. One day ever yone is clamoring for this man to take [DeVante' Jones'] starting spot, the next they 're calling him a selfish greedy idiot. Funny how anonymous internet forums can turn. He's just a kid making a decision he probably thinks is best. We can disagree with his choice, but the vitriol is insane and uncalled for. SamL17 • It is what it is. The program will still exist tomorrow. IndyWolverine23 Be Heard! Send your letters to: Wolverine Letters P.O.
