2 0 M A Y 2 0 2 3 T he absences are few but notable for Penn State offensive coordi- nator Mike Yurcich this spring. At quarterback, Sean Clifford is gone, and joining him are receivers Parker Wash- ington and Mitchell Tinsley, center Juice Scruggs and tight end Brenton Strange, all of whom are pursuing NFL careers. What excites the Nittany Lions, though, are the possibilities that exist for the players who return. Led by a pair of elite sophomore running backs in Nicho- las Singleton and Kaytron Allen, with a strong, veteran offensive line ahead of them, and two quality tight ends, Penn State has no shortage of experience and production. It also has a certain sophomore quar- terback with limitless potential. Working through a spring practice session littered with major storylines at each position, here is a look at some of the buzz coming from the Lasch Building regarding Penn State's offense: Quarterback Few position groups have been limited to one storyline this spring, and the quar- terback room is no exception. The first storyline is that redshirt fresh- man Beau Pribula is fearless and a tough, dynamic competitor. The second is that sophomore Drew Allar isn't particularly bothered by that.
