Elite wide receiver Nick Marsh also made the trip. A native of River Rouge, Mich., Marsh has long been considered one of Penn State's most important receiver targets, but a commitment to Michigan State last year kept that re- cruitment from progressing. The 6-3, 200-pound four-star player opened up his recruitment in March and has also visited Auburn and Tennessee. On3 considers him the nation's No. 19 re- ceiver and No. 123 overall prospect. "My expectations were for Penn State to be somewhat up there, but I didn't expect the visit to be that good," Marsh said. "Penn State is actually very high in my recruitment right now. I don't have much more to say, but I'm going on an official visit June 2-4, so that's when we'll break down where they sit in my recruitment." Marsh wasn't the only top receiver prospect in atten- dance. Four-star New Jersey pros- pect Jaylan Horn- sby also made the trip, his third to Penn State since last summer. Only his in-state school, Rutgers, has hosted him more. Since March, he's gone to Georgia and Texas A&M, while Tennessee and Mary- land were slated to get him on campus before the end of April. Nothing was set as of early April, but he said that both Texas A&M and Penn State were in a good position to receive official visits. Hornsby is rated No. 6 in New Jersey and No. 46 among wideouts nationally by On3. A native of Camden, he said his mother was impressed with Franklin. "He and my mom are pretty cool," Hornsby said. "She didn't even know he was the head coach at first, but they connected pretty well. But they were just letting me know that I'm their top guy from New Jersey, which feels pretty good. It definitely makes me want to consider them even more. They're near the top of my list, for real. "I also liked that they're all really fam- ily-oriented. Like I said, Coach Franklin and my mom really enjoyed talking. They both were laughing and joking. He's a funny guy." ■ Rk. School Commits 1. Georgia 11 2. Alabama 4 3. Ohio State 9 4. Florida 6 5.
