The former Penn State receiver, who started his NFL career with the Jack- sonville Jaguars and later spent time with the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Rams, was traded by the latter to the Pittsburgh Steelers in April after just one injury- shortened season on the West Coast. As part of the deal, the teams exchanged seventh-round picks in the 2023 draft and came to an agreement on who would pay which parts of his contract. According to NFL.com, the Steelers are paying Robin- son a $3.83 million signing bonus along with a base salary of $1.16 million this year. The Rams will pay him $10 million in 2023. Next season, Robinson will receive a $10 million base salary. Now preparing for his 10th pro season, Robinson said he's confident that he can be a difference-maker for the Steelers. "I feel like I have a lot of football left," he told ESPN. "Last year, for the time that I was playing, I felt very good about some of the things that I did." Robinson's move to Los Angles before the 2022 season was initially seen as a big boost for the defending Super Bowl champions. But he did not make the im- pact early in the season that many had foreseen, and then a stress fracture in his right foot ended his campaign after just 10 games. Robinson finished with 33 catches for 339 yards and 3 touchdowns in 2022. Ex- cept for his final year in Jacksonville, in which he suffered a season-ending knee injury on opening day, his reception and yardage totals last fall were the lowest of his career. After he was traded to the Steelers, Robinson told the Pittsburgh Post-Ga- zette that he didn't feel as though he had been put in a position to succeed during his time in Los Angeles. "If you're a fork, you don't want to be used as a spoon the majority of the time," he said. Over the course of his nine-year pro career, Robinson has made 528 recep- tions for 6,278 yards and 43 touchdowns. Originally selected in the second round of the 2014 draft, he spent four seasons with the Jaguars, four with the Bears, and one with the Rams. "He's had experience as an inside guy," Robinson was an All-American at Penn State and an All-Pro in 2015 with Jacksonville. He was traded to Pittsburgh in April after stints in Chicago and Los Angeles.
