The Irish beat the Seminoles handily after not playing at all since Sept. 19. • Oct. 17, 2020: No. 4 Notre Dame 12, Louisville 7 The Irish trailed 7-6 in the third quar- ter before a 13-yard rushing score from Book with 3:43 left in the third frame stood up as the game winner. • Oct. 24, 2020: No. 3 Notre Dame 45, Pitt 3 Graduate student wide receiver Ben Skowronek had one of the best games of his college career (which began at Northwestern), and he only needed 2 catches to have it. He caught touch- down passes of 34 and 73 yards from Book. • Oct. 31, 2020: No. 4 Notre Dame 31, Georgia Tech 13 No Halloween scaries for the Irish. Their tune-up for No. 1 Clemson went well. • Nov. 7, 2020: No. 4 Notre Dame 47, No. 1 Clemson 40 2OT The Irish took down the top team in the country, playing without QB starter Trevor Lawrence, in double overtime in what might be remembered as the best victory of the Brian Kelly era. • Nov. 14, 2020: No. 2 Notre Dame 45, Boston College 31 Former Irish quarterback Phil Jurk- ovec led the Eagles to quite a few points, but Book was better in a two-touch- down win for Notre Dame. • Nov. 27, 2020: No. 2 Notre Dame 31, No. 25 North Carolina 17 Current Washington Commanders quarterback Sam Howell and the Tar Heels had the Irish in a 17-17 deadlock at halftime, but two scoring drives that amassed 21 plays and nearly 10 minutes of game time was too much for UNC to overcome. • Dec. 5, 2020: No. 2 Notre Dame 45, Syracuse 21 In a rare December regular season game, the Irish jumped out to a 24-7 halftime lead and cruised toward their first-ever conference championship game appearance. • Sept. 5, 2021: No. 9 Notre Dame 41, Florida State 38 The unranked Seminoles gave the Irish a season-opening scare, but quar- terback Jack Coan was ultimately too much in his Notre Dame debut. He threw for 366 yards and 4 touchdowns. Kicker Jonathan Doerer hit a 41-yarder in overtime. • Oct. 9, 2021: No. 14 Notre Dame 32, Virginia Tech 29 One week after getting benched in a home loss to Cincinnati, Coan was benched again in this one. He returned in the fourth quarter to lead two scor- ing drives when the Irish were trailing 29-21. • Oct. 30, 2021: No. 11 Notre Dame 44, North Carolina 34 North Carolina outgained Notre Dame 564 to 523 in total yards, but Kyren Wil- liams' 199 yards and an electrifying 91- yard touchdown run early in the fourth quarter put the Tar Heels away. • Nov. 13, 2021: No. 7 Notre Dame 28, Virginia 3 Cavaliers quarterback Brennan Arm- strong did not play, and Notre Dame subsequently outclassed the Cavs all night. • Nov. 20, 2021: No. 6 Notre Dame 55, Georgia Tech 0 Talk about getting outclassed. That's how bad this one was. • Sept. 24, 2022: Notre Dame 45, North Carolina 32 Notre Dame was an underdog with quarterback Drew Pyne facing future NFLer Drake Maye, but Pyne played well in the face of 5 passing touchdowns from Maye and the Irish got their season back on track. • Oct. 29, 2022: Notre Dame 41, Syracuse 24 Brandon Joseph returned an intercep- tion for a touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, and the Irish were off and running in the JMA Dome from there. • Nov. 5, 2022: Notre Dame 35, Clemson 14 A blocked punt returned for a touch- down got Notre Dame off to a nice start, and Benjamin Morrison's 96-yard in- terception return for a touchdown to make it 28-0 in the fourth quarter was icing on the cake. • Nov. 19, 2022: No. 18 Notre Dame 44, Boston College 0 Benjamin Morrison had 3 intercep- tions on a snowy afternoon in South Bend. The Irish running game racked up 281 yards on the ground in the cold conditions. • Sept. 9, 2023: No. 10 Notre Dame 45, NC State 24 A 105-minute rain delay couldn't distract Notre Dame from earning its 29th win in a row over an ACC oppo- nent. Hartman threw for 286 yards and 4 touchdowns, and Audric Estimé ran for 134 and 2 scores. ✦
