The Nittany Lions improved to 5-0 for the fourth consecutive year with a 27-11 victory over UCLA on Oct. 5. This season also marks the first time in Penn State his- tory that the team has started 5-0 four years in a row. PSU followed its win over the Bruins with a 33-30 overtime victory over USC on Oct. 12. In doing so, it became the only FBS team to open each of the past two seasons by winning its first six games. Liberty, which compiled a 13-0 regular-season record in 2023 and is off to a 5-0 start this year, could join the Lions if it defeats Kennesaw State on Oct. 23. 2 Wrestling dual meets scheduled for the Bryce Jordan Center during the 2024-25 season. The Nittany Lions will face Iowa at the BJC on Jan. 31, followed by a clash with Michigan in the same venue on Feb. 7. The Lions typically hold only one dual meet per season across campus from their usual home in Rec Hall, but they did welcome both the Wolverines and Hawkeyes to the larger arena in 2023, winning by scores of 30-8 and 23-14, respectively. 4.72 Kills per set by graduate outside hitter Jess Mruzik. Warren, who finished with 224 receiving yards, tied an FBS single- game record for most catches by a tight end. The only other tight ends to catch 17 passes in a game were Emilio Vallez of New Mexico in 1967 and Jon Harvey of Northwestern in 1982. Warren also set a record for most catches ever by a Penn State player in a game. The previous standard belonged to wide receiver DaeSean Hamilton with 14 receptions against Ohio State in 2014. Earlier this year, Warren broke the school record for most touchdowns by a tight end. Through six games this year, the Mechanicsville, Va., native had 18 career scores — 15 pass receptions and 3 rushes. Pat Freiermuth had held the record with 16 touchdowns from 2018- 20, all on receptions. 20:03.2 Florence Caron's time at the Nut- tycombe Wisconsin Invite. The se- nior middle-distance standout from Canada crossed the finish line of the 6-kilometer course in second place overall, helping Penn State place 10th out of 25 teams at the prestigious cross country meet, which took place Sept. 27 in Madison. The redshirt junior from Cincinnati was PFF's highest-graded wide receiver in Week 6 of the college season. Clifford caught 3 passes for 107 yards against the Bruins. 718 Yards of total offense by Penn State in its 56-0 victory over Kent State on Sept. 21. The offensive outburst broke a school record that had stood since 1926 when the Lions amassed 711 yards in an 82-0 shutout of Susquehanna. In addition, Penn State set a school record for most first downs in a game with 40, topping the 38 it gained in a 34-6 win over West Virginia in 1962. And the 652-yard differential in total offense between the Nittany Lions and Golden Flashes (who finished with 66 yards) was the highest in an FBS game in the past decade, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
