4 THE WOLVERINE ❱ APRIL 2025 BE HONEST, WHO WROTE THIS TEAM OFF? I thought [Danny] Wolf and [Tre] Donaldson were cooked. It's so great to be wrong sometimes … Franchise122 I never thought they'd win the Big Ten tourney the way they were playing. Happy for them. 93BlueCT Pretty sure most of us did. It was not looking good there for a bit. BuckeyeChoker I will admit that I did. After the way they finished out the regular season I thought they were done. Always hoped they would make a run but deep down I didn't think they had it in them. Boy was I wrong … This team has grit and I tip my hat to Dusty [May] and the boys for bringing the banner home. GoBlueToledo3 The level of defense when the offense couldn't get anything going at all — takes a ton of grit to keep playing D at such a high level when the ball isn't falling on the offensive end — was really the story of this game. The boys willed themselves to a CHAMPIONSHIP! Vet652000 Never! Until the season is over, I always think we've got a shot. Friedbergboy It's important to point out that "writing the team off" is far different than being disappointed in their play late in the regular season and voicing such. Some of the ridiculous takes I saw during the three-game losing streak to end the season were pretty embarrassing. SparkyGoBlue I honestly did not. Seemed like half the team was sick near season's end. Got healthy! Great coach. I think Tre could lead this team to a deep run. 2nd and nine Me ... So glad I was way wrong. Go Blue! SKlimek OPINIONS VARY ON U-M'S 2025 FOOTBALL SCHEDULE The football schedule this year looks very tough in comparison to schedules of the past, not includ- ing last year. With these new conferences and the playoff system, you don't need an Oklahoma road game or Texas like last year in there. Fuse Really? I'd say it's one of the easiest schedules in recent memory (outside of 2023 which was incred- ibly easy). U-M plays one B1G team that finished in the top 10 of the standings last year (and that's USC, which finished 9th). We also play the entire bottom five of the standings from last year. And Oklahoma was under .500 last year. A couple of tough games (at Nebraska, at USC, vs. OSU) but in general that's an easy path to the CFP. GeorgeJones I disagree. Alias76 I must say I hate this idea of don't play an Okla- homa/Texas. As a fan, these are the games I look forward to on the schedule. Play the best, compete and it'll serve you better in the long-run. Dec727727 Beware those Chippewas!!! I'll be there on Sept. 13 in the Big House. VinceBean It's easier on paper than last year's schedule. Breaking it into segments: 1. New Mexico, Oklahoma, Central Michigan. Prep game, tough road game (though they aren't some juggernaut), prep game. 2. @ Nebraska, Wisconsin, @ USC. This is a tough segment. No gimmes here, but also no jug- gernauts. Nebraska will have a good QB in his second year, but will the rest of their team be any good? This isn't the same Wisconsin team as in years past, and we get them at home. USC will be down but we always struggle traveling to the West Coast. 3. Washington, @ MSU, Purdue. Seems like a lighter segment. 4. @ Northwestern, @ Maryland, OSU. Lighter with a big dog at the end. I think Segment 2 will determine Michigan's sea- son. Those three teams are neither pushovers nor juggernauts, but two of the games are on the road. One of the road games is always a tough environ- ment. The other isn't a tough environment but requires a cross-country trip. If Michigan goes 2-1, 2-1, 3-0, 2-1, will they get into the playoff at 9-3? Bluex2 ❱ Be Heard! Send your letters to: Wolverine Letters P.O.
