C O M P enn State picked up its second offen- sive lineman of the 2026 recruiting cycle when it landed three-star New Jersey prospect Roseby Lubintus in April. A 6-foot-5, 350-pound tackle, Lu- bintus committed just four days after visiting State College during the final week of spring practice. The Nittany Lions were already considered the team to beat for the Timber Creek High pros- pect, and they only strengthened their position during his time on campus. "I would say this was one of the bet- ter visits I've had to any school that I've been to," Lubintus said. "Everything about this visit was centered around me and making sure I knew everything that I could potentially be getting myself into, even beyond the football aspect of it. I walked every inch around cam- pus and I learned about everything. I learned a lot about the kind of school Penn State is. "I also spent time meeting every coach, and that made this a really im- portant day for me. I got to talk to Coach [James] Franklin a good amount of the time. I got to meet [2025 offensive line signee] Malachi Goodman, too. We hit it off. I think we have really good compat- ibility. Watching their practice, I could tell Penn State would be a great fit for me." During the year leading up to his com- mitment, Lubintus totaled 14 schol- arship offers. He took an official visit to Syracuse in mid-April and had trips planned to West Virginia and Michigan State in June. Lubintus had also attracted the inter- est of Florida, and a number of other schools were intensifying their recruit- ing efforts, including Alabama and NC State. But by that point in his recruit- ment, he had developed strong relation- ships with Penn State's staff, notably Franklin and offensive line coach Phil Trautwein. "I like the way Coach Traut does it," said Lubintus, who joined four-star in- terior offensive lineman Kevin Brown in Penn State's class. "He's all about find- ing out the kind of person you are first and building a bond with you. Coach Franklin is one of those people who's not afraid to tell you the truth. Coach Traut is the same way. They're going to tell you what it is before you ever step into it. Everybody would want that. "I've been talking to Coach Traut for a while now. He's taken time to get to know my mom. Not a lot of other coaches can say that." It didn't hurt that Penn State was the first school to extend an offer to Lubintus, doing so in March 2024. At the time, he didn't have a lot of film to show, and some coaches were reluctant to get involved until seeing more. Their hesitance ended up working in the Nit- tany Lions' favor. "Penn State was my first offer, and they're still here," said Lubintus, who is listed by On3 as the No. 53 offensive tackle nationally and No. 8 prospect in New Jersey. "A lot of schools have of- fered, but I haven't talked to them since the [2024] season. [Penn State] stuck it out with me to see what I could do, and that really sticks with me. That takes things to a whole different level." ■ Lions' Early Interest Prompts Lineman To Commit RYA N S N Y D E R | RYA N . S N Y D E R @ O N 3 . C O M Lubintus was garnering interest from Florida, Alabama, NC State and others before choosing the Nittany Lions in April. PHOTO BY RYAN SNYDER COMMITMENT PROFILE ROSEBY LUBINTUS Roseby Lubintus' game is all about length and strength. He has a big frame and elite length. I think he has a significant punch and power at the point of contact. Once he gets his hands on defenders, he's able to impose his will. There are a lot of encouraging traits and skills to work with here for a developmental offensive lineman. People began paying attention to Lubintus before he saw significant varsity playing time. We were really waiting to see what he looked like as a junior, and I do think there were some encouraging signs. I could see him playing tackle or guard at the next level. His skill set right now may be more suited to guard, but he certainly has that elite length that you want to have on the edge at tackle. He also has a really strong multisport profile. Lubintus has a shot put of over 50 feet, which is an elite mark to complement his physical traits. Those are all positives. He's certainly an upside play — a guy who's still fairly early in his development but shows the necessary traits. I'm looking forward to seeing what he shows as a senior. — Charles Power, On3 director of scouting and rankings P L A Y E R E V A L U A T I O N
