As for the others, Branch and Witherington have mentioned on a few occasions that the Nittany Lions rank among their top three or four schools. Branch, who stands 6-3, 300 pounds, was previously recruited to play offensive guard. That changed after Penn State de- fensive line coach Deion Barnes watched him work out in May. Defensive End Four-star prospect Daniel Jennings of Princeton, W.Va., the nation's No. 160 player and No. 23 edge rusher, was an early PSU 2026 commit but reclassified to the 2025 class in mid-May. He now will arrive on campus and enroll this summer. In New Jersey, Hun School defensive end Luke Wafle is on pace to be a five- star prospect at No. 14 overall nationally. His brother Owen already plays for the Nittany Lions. Penn State is also in the mix with Carter Meadows, who attends Gonzaga in Washington, D.C. The 6-6, 225-pound edge rusher holds a five-star grade from On3 and is the nation's No. 6 overall prospect. Penn State should end up in the top three with both Meadows and Wafle, and we like its chances of landing at least one of them. Beyond those two, the Nittany Lions have official visits set with a trio of Penn- sylvania natives: Jackson Ford of Phoe- nixville, Anthony Charles of McDonald and Ashton Blatt of Pittsburgh. Ford has received a four-star rating and is listed as the No. 228 player and No. 27 edge in the 2026 class, while Charles and Blatt are three-star prospects. All are realistic possibilities. Barnes has an opportunity to put to- gether a very strong defensive end class.
